I’m combining the last two weeks to spare you all from boredom. The last several weeks I’ve been consumed with nursing my little Aker boy. He had knee surgery. The first two weeks he was in cast, which I thought would be the worse. Turns out that the weeks since the cast was removed have been […]
The highlight of both my tours was the sea life (and some wildlife too). I saw so many Orcas that I got picky about which ones were worthy of photos. I also saw several humpbacks, but the most interesting was a momma and baby who playfully breached, siphoned, and tail slapped right next to our […]
The glaciers visible on the Kenai Fjords tour are part of the Harding Icefield (named after President Harding). The Harding Icefield is the largest icefield contained entirely within the United States. During my two trips, I got photographs of four of the forty glaciers that spider out from Harding Icefield. It doesn’t matter how many […]
As promised I want to share some photos from my Kenai Fjords trip. I want to build up to the grand finale…the sea life…so, to start I thought I’d share some of the landscape of the area. Although the weather was just mediocre the stunning greens really stood out. Kenai Fjords – Part 1

Flowers (Butterfly Bush, Daisy, Day Lily, Hydrangea, Periwinkle, and a couple others) Vegetable (Onion Gone to Seed) Weeds (Still Pretty)
Tern Lake is located at the intersection of the Sterling and Seward highways in Alaska. Every time I pass this lake I really enjoy how beautiful it is. I took these photos on July 3rd. It wasn’t a particularly great day, but none the less Tern Lake did not disappoint.
I’m very fascinated with clouds and I love the view from airplanes (even if I don’t really like to fly). There photos were taken shortly before landing in Anchorage, Alaska.
When I decided to go on an adventure every month this year, I had no idea that after five months I’d be walking through one of life’s biggest adventures with my parents. I mentioned in a previous post, about Being Homesick, that my parents lost nearly everything in a fire on June 1st (the day […]
